“My name is Greg Ashley, I am 64 years old, happily married to an amazing woman with 5 grown children and 5grandchildren with more to come we hope! Iwas a baseball, football and all sports as a kid through high school, rode motorcycles and just plain had fun growing up. I was a very good athlete, fast and strong. Iloved to play golf and have played golf for most of my adult life untilJune 24th of this year. About a year ago I was diagnosed with CIDP, (Chronic inflammation ,demyelinating polyneuropathy). This is a terrible disease that I had never even heard of. My symptoms probably actually started over 4 years ago, but I thought it was a pinched nerve and was all in my back. I can’t stand or balance without a cane or something else to support me. I had back surgery back in 2010 and it was very successful. So, when these issues started coming back around 2020, they were similar but different. I got what they call drop foot. I was unable to lift my left foot up and my foot would drag.

Treatments for CIDP are available only to try to stop it from getting worse but not to cure it. There currently is not cure for CIDP. Istarted treatments about August oflast year 2022 doing IVIG treatments (infusions) once a month for three days in a row 4 hours at a time with a needle in my arm or hand where they could find the best vein.

Fast forward to probably around March of this year, after speaking with my daughter @kristi_lucy15 , I started at CrossFit Higher Ground working with Cole. He certainly did his research and not only helps me physically but mentally. I appreciate him so much. It’s so refreshing to meet people who truly care and want to help!”

When Greg and I first started working together, I shared with him to change his perspective to “earn back your movement”, rather than view it as it being taken away. He now celebrates the little victories and is more focused than ever, my goal is to get him back on the golf course again! ⛳️
